1. Accepting these terms

By downloading, installing or using Pulse ("the app") or this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install the app. These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what the app reads and what it sends.

2. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Pulse on Macs you own or control, for personal or commercial use, for as long as these terms are in effect.

You may not:

• sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app, or charge others for access to it;
• reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where that restriction is unenforceable under the law that applies to you;
• remove or obscure any branding, notices or attribution in the app;
• present the app, modified or otherwise, as your own product, or ship a derivative of it.

We keep all rights in Pulse — the code, the name, the icon and the design. Nothing here transfers ownership of any of it to you.

3. Beta software

Pulse is currently in public beta. Beta software is incomplete by definition: expect bugs, rough edges, features that change shape, and features that are removed. Do not rely on Pulse for anything where failure would cost you something — in particular, do not treat the clipboard history as storage. It lives in memory and is erased when the app quits.

The app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without a Gatekeeper warning. Notarization means Apple has scanned the build for malware. It is not an endorsement, a review, or a warranty of any kind, and nothing in this section changes the disclaimers below.

4. Automatic updates

Pulse can update itself. It checks a release feed we publish on GitHub, and when a newer version exists it offers to download and install it — replacing the copy in your Applications folder and relaunching the app. Every update is signed with our Apple Developer ID and carries a second signature of our own, both of which are verified before anything is installed. A build that fails either check is refused.

Pulse asks whether it may check automatically before it ever does so, and you can change that answer at any time in Settings, where you can also check by hand. Declining does not limit the app in any way. An update check is an ordinary HTTPS request to GitHub and carries no information about you beyond what any web request reveals — your IP address and which version you are running. Our Privacy Policy sets that out in full.

We may stop supporting older versions, and an update may change, remove or replace features you use. If you would rather decide for yourself, turn the automatic check off and Pulse will leave your installed version where it is.

5. Price, and what happens after the beta

Pulse is free to download and use during the free beta window, which runs until 2 August 2026. We may introduce paid plans or paid features afterwards. If we do, we will say so clearly before you are asked for anything, and we will not start charging a build you already installed without telling you first.

Nothing on this site or in the app is a promise of a permanently free product, a particular future price, or a lifetime licence, unless we state that in writing.

6. Acceptable use

Use Pulse lawfully. Do not use it to capture, retain or exfiltrate information you are not entitled to — the clipboard history is a convenience for the person sitting at the Mac, not a monitoring tool for someone else's machine. Installing Pulse on a device you do not own or control, in order to observe another person, is a misuse of the app and ends your licence immediately.

7. Third-party services and software

Pulse displays information from apps and services we do not control — Music, Spotify, your browser, your calendar, your Bluetooth devices — and fetches forecasts from Open-Meteo. We are not responsible for those services, for their availability, or for the accuracy of what they report. A weather reading is an estimate from a third party, not advice.

8. No warranty

Pulse is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with a future version of macOS, or that any defect will be corrected.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Where that is the case, any statutory rights you have as a consumer are unaffected by these terms.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use Pulse — even if we were advised such damages were possible.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Pulse is limited to the amount you actually paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, which during the free beta is zero.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Ending the agreement

You can end this agreement at any time by deleting Pulse. We may suspend or end your licence if you breach these terms. We may also discontinue Pulse, or any part of it, at any time — it is beta software and we are not committing to run it forever.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Pulse changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced on the site. Continuing to use Pulse after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them — except where the consumer protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally, which these terms do not remove.
